  Disgusting service.
  Bought a gift jaycar branded and they wanted receipt. Emailed sms and even quoting the numbers from the receipt. Said it wouldnt scan so wouldnt exchange or refund.
  Hello australian consumer law?
  Was already told that products purchased at one store could easily be exchanged or refunded at another store before I bought it.
  Piss poor service.

  I shared my concern to Keiran, I couldn't explain my problem in detail but he had the whole time in the world to clarify and understand my problem.
  He was extremely helpful and friendly.
  
  That branch must be stoked to have such a good knowledgeable employee on board.

  Staff are pleasant enough but lately it seems that when I ask for something they look at me like I'm speaking another language. e.g. On a recent visit I asked for 14 pin IC sockets and the guy brings me a couple of trays of some random IC's and asks "Is it one of these". Seriously!. So maybe this was a communication breakdown. A week later I'm back again and I ask for an 18 pin IC socket. Same guy looks at me and says "mmmm 18 pins...do they come in 18 pins?" um yes they do and you sell them. Next day, I need a trim capacitor. We are talking just a normal run of the mill capacitor here not a flux capacitor or anything exotic. So the guy serving me asks his colleague "Where do we keep our capacitors". Now this wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't the store manager. WOW!. So I get the cap I'm after, tell him the value, he cant find it in the computer (turns out because he typed the wrong thing, but that's OK, then asks me to go and get the code for it. I'm not expecting to be served by an electrical engineer but it is an electronics store so I would expect a little bit of product knowledge. Rant over.

  This Jaycar store has been one of the most helpful of the approximately 16 I've visited in the 7 years I've been in Sydney. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to help you get what you need, and to recommend alternatives if you explain what you are after.

  Purchased a DIY "voice modulator pack, Instructions were "sold separately" and came printed in black and white, with missing points (no notifications on the colour co-ordinations of Resistors) Making the device impossible to build.
  
  Waste of time and money.
