  My son had his xr8 cammed and tuned and about a year ago now and I have kept my nose out of it till now. Firstly it has never idled correctly stalled continuously which meant riding the clutch (it was a new clutch and now it's slipping $$$). Took it back after many phone calls and they had it for a few days drilled a hole in the throttle body butterfly and gave it back with little improvement but still stalling. Fuel consumption was horrific considering my son drives very conservatively (except on the odd occasion which is why he cammed it in the first place) 350 klms to the tank. The fumes coming out of the exhaust where shocking. Tappet covers where soon after leaking and the dip stick oring was damaged????? My son finally asked for my compression tester and found out that the left head was 120 psi consistently and the left head 150 psi consistently. After making many enquiries with other engine mobs they all said can timing was the cause. I then insisted my son call castle hill performance to see what they think it is and they told him they did nothing wrong and that the cams can only go in one way and there is no adjustment? There was no mention of dialing the cams in etc. My son is now in the process of getting it rectified and having to pay another $800 to sort out the timing and $500 for another tune from someone else. VERY DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST. It has been a year of coughing and splattering and black soot all over my driveway from the cold starts. After phoning Herrod cams and asking them what they think we knew for certain the cams were not installed correctly but castle hill performance have there money and are not interested in fixing anything. They also had to fit a breather into the silicone hose (intake) this was done with a knife and the barb pushed in (rough as guts cowboys)
