  Terrible service. Went in for a mouth guard for out 10 year old son, who sees another dentist (that doesn’t do mouth guards) every couple of months. Without informing us, charged us for a checkup we didn’t ask for, and could not competently get a mould of his teeth for the mouthgoard. Mould material everywhere, gagging child constantly, multiple attempts and no success. Very poor service. I called and said why were we charged on our healthcare for the checkup “oh, that’s our new protocol”. Ridiculous it’s just a reason to charge and make money, for something we didn’t ask for.

  Dentists are fabulous reception staff are terrible. Uniformed about cancelations made on their end, wrong times for appointments made, unhelpful, unapologetic for the numerous mistakes and all correspondence made without any emotion or empathy. I refuse to go there now with the response of the receptionist being. Well that's your choice before hanging up. Another reason to look for another insurance provider.

  My daughter and I had our first HCF regular check up at the Castle Hill centre recently. I was very impressed with the level of service and professionalism of the dental hygienist and the dentist. The practice location is very convenient too (inside Castle Towers shopping centre so lots of parking). We did have to wait a few weeks to get in and now have to wait until January for a non-urgent filling, but that’s just the nature of the beast given the majority of treatments are included in HCF cover and the number of people who were unable to access dental care during the Covid restrictions (the dental team can hardly be blamed for government mandates and the subsequent backlog).
  
  We both got OPG, X-Rays, dental review and clean, scale and fluoride treatment under Bronze cover with no out of pocket fee. I’m pretty happy with that!
